Steve Rabin

Steve Rabin

     Principal Software Engineer at Nintendo Technology Development

Steve Rabin has been a software engineer in the games industry for 25 years and has taught college-level game AI and data visualization courses for over 15 years. As a principal software engineer with Nintendo, Steve has architected game development tools, technical demos, and operating system-level code for Nintendo's GameCube, DS, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and Switch platforms.

He holds 16 Nintendo-issued patents on data collection/analysis/visualization, augmented reality, and the Wii Remote. He contributed as a writer/editor to over 20 books on game development, has been an invited keynote speaker at several academic AI conferences, and is the founder of the 2-day AI Summit at the annual Game Developers Conference (GDC), where he has been a summit advisor for the last 12 years.

Jonathan Foster

Principal Content Experiences Manager, Edge, Mobile, Office & Content Intelligence at Microsoft

Jonathan Foster leads the Edge Browser, Mobile Experiences & Content Intelligence writing teams at Microsoft. Their work includes UX writing across products and features in Windows and Office, writing conversational interactions for bots and non-persona-based interactions, and designing bot personalities.

 

He built the writing team for Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana for the US and international markets, where they wrote what Cortana said and developed Cortana’s personality. The team is now expanding upon this learning to create a personality catalog for developers and designers who leverage the Microsoft’s Bot Framework Prior to his 11 years at Microsoft, Jonathan’s background is in film and television and the wine business in Napa, CA.

UX Director, Google Cloud Platform

 

As a UX leader at Google, Christina is always on the lookout for creating moments of positive surprise for her users. She is based in Google's Seattle office and is focused on developer experience for the Google Cloud Platform, covering everything from API research to popular developer tools such as plugins into VS Code or IntelliJ. She also drives the user experience for Google's Serverless offerings and operations management (Cloud Logging and Monitoring). Prior to joining Google in 2016, she was at Microsoft for over 20 years, working on large products like Office, Windows, Xbox, SQL Server and Azure Machine Learning.

For the majority of her career she was part of the product management discipline before she made the switch to UX. UX research is dear to her as it allowed her to deliver successful products to customers throughout her career. She has witnessed first hand over and over again how great UX is a key differentiator in a time where the market is crowded with options and companies are working hard to get customers' attention.

Christina is an active member of the angel investor community in the Pacific Northwest and a regular mentor of startups through the Seattle-based TechStars accelerator program.

Design Director and Observationist at Pensar

Kristin is an observer of human experience and an accomplished designer of products and experiences. It doesn’t matter if a product is physical or digital or both, it’s improving people’s experiences that matters to her. Kristin is currently Design Director and Observationist at Pensar, a design + engineering product development consultancy. She leads an amazing small team of designers doing ID, UI, and UX for Clients both large and small. When not at Pensar, Kristin can be found chasing the light with a camera, trying to keep up with her unicycling and hand-standing children, or just watching and learning from the people around her.

Haresh Sangani is the founder of Hitech Advisors, a consulting firm specializing in contract and full-time talent acquisition and project consulting. Hitech Advisors maps meaningful problems to people who find them meaningful to solve and are experts in  engaging experts on behalf of clients.

Haresh has over twenty years of experience in leadership roles and technical contributions at AT&T, Amazon, Kronos, Emtec, and various startups.

He is also a co- founder of Faira.
